Sponsorship is a big concept for amateur boxers. It's a rare time in the industry when someone bucks up and gives the amateurs a step up and a helping hand.
we would like to offically thank our Sponsers TRADE SWAP , wwwTradeSwap.ca for their generous contributions and belief in our fighters.

BATTLE LINES - RESULTS ARE IN
Great night of fights as always.
Unfortunately for Julie Remington, she got the bad end of a split decision and got her first fight as a loss. Julie came out nervous in the first round not knowing what to expect, then after being bombarded by a feisty opponent she gained her footing and started to get into the groove. Second round came and it was a close one, both girls were boxing an exciting fight. Third round came, and you could tell that Julie had finally completely gone over her first fight nerves, and she came in dominant and got herself what some people thought was a sure fire victory. But as I stated, it was a split decision loss but at least one of the judges thought she had won. This isn't mentioning the fact that her original fight got cancelled last minute so she went in against an experienced heavier opponent. I guess i kinda feel sorry for the person who she seeks retribution with. Keep an eye out for this girl, she is gonna go far !
And yet again Chris Anderson left nothing to be surprised about. He came in and completely dominated his fight from beginning to end giving his friends/family/ and fans everything they were expecting to see. Punch after punch after standing 8 counts after more devastating punches he just couldn't seem to knock out his opponent though, he was one tough competitor who had a lot of heart. This is Chris's 3rd fight, and 3rd victory.
This was the first fight that both of our fighters we're fully sponsored for, so i'ld like to thank the fighters sponsors Trade Swap www.tradeswap.ca for believing in our fighters and helping them get the training and recognition that they deserve...

CHRIS ANDERSON : Ladies and Gentlemen !! ... you missed a slick performance of complete domination. I can't take anything away from his opponent though, his opponent was tough too. People are talking .... Chris is gonna be a contender. Watch him rise in the smaller venues while you can. Feb. 6th - UFC 109 , Tim Hague vs Chris Tuchscherer - watch and download the fight here (below)
Our buddy , Tim "The Thrashing Machine" Hague, was let go of his UFC contract in a very upsetting and controversial loss over Chris Tuchscher. Even Joe Rogan after the fight mentioned it was one of the most upsetting calls in UFC history. Anyway, i'll put up the vids, decide for yourself. Tim was told to win 4 fights in a row, then come back, so i say we all go support his upcoming fights (most likely in Edmonton), and watch his rise to stardom come again. join our facebook group and you'll be sent the updates and reminders for Tim's next Thrashing to some poor dude ..

SATURDAY JAN 30th FIGHT NIGHT
Aaron Barnes(Debut), Brooks(Extreme MMA) 153.5lbs vs. Gareth Jones (Debut), Airdrie (Airdrie Boxing & Primal MMA) 157.5 lbs
Round 1:
A feeling out process to start the fight. Jones catches a kick and lands a punch to the head of Barnes, knocking him down. Jones lets Barnes stands up and then finishes the job, knocking him down once again. Referee Jim Flanders decides that Barnes has had enough, stopping the fight at 1:34 for the winner by TKO Gareth Jones.
The HKFCAOAFE for Knockout of the Night:
This award goes to the fighter with the most impressive knockout at Hard Knocks 5.
The nominees are: Cole Fetzer for his TKO of Meelad Hashtee, Rob Park for his KO of Justin Wong, Gareth Jones for his TKO of Aaron Barnes and Aaron Armstrong for his TKO of Curtis Chambers
And the winner is... Gareth Jones
Gareth Jones has a great deal of boxing experience and he showed it at Hard Knocks 5 with a devastating KO of Aaron Barnes. In the first real action of the fight, Jones caught a kick and with Barnes's leg in hand, Jones used his free hand to knock down Barnes with a hard punch to the jaw. Jones then let Barnes up, so that he could continue with his superior striking. A devastating right hook later, Barnes was left sprawled out on the canvas. The KO at 1:34 of Round 1 gave Jones his first MMA victory and earns him the HKFCAOAFE for Knockout of the Night

SATURDAY JAN 23rd FIGHT NIGHT
What a great night for boxing in general, let alone both of the Teofista Gyms.
Adam Lacasse was our first fighter of the 3 Airdrie fighters brought. Adams fight fell through last minute so he got to spar for fun with a guy that was 20 pounds heavier then him.
Although despite the obvious weight difference Adam held his own and still got to throw his fists in front of a crowd. It'll be a treat to watch him get in the ring against his own weight division next time.
Our First Official (on record) fight of the night was Matthew Halladay. Matthew stayed tight, threw allot of connecting punches and stayed alert receiving 2 standing 8 counts against his opponent. It was high energy and non stop action.
After 3 rounds of a great performance by both fighters, Matthew walked away winning, and now having Teofista-Elite's / Airdrie Boxing's FIRST FIGHT and FIRST VICTORY.
Our Third fight / second official fight of the night was Chris Anderson. Chris came out heavy, strong, precise and leaving not much for openings. Chris's speed and heavy hands are what ended up achieving him 1 standing 8 count against his opponent and then unanimously
getting the victory after 3 rounds of 2 tough guys showing what boxing is all about.... And now having Teofista-Elite's / Airdrie Boxing's SECOND FIGHT and SECOND VICTORY.
My Last words on this are those of GREAT appreciation for our fighters and members who helped them train. Our 2 recorded fights / victories came from fighters who were home bred from our gym. It's nice to "officially" know that what we're offering at the gym is paying off.
Congratulations guys !! |
